Effective date: August 31, 2026. This page explains what information Next Knock collects from students, hostel hosts, dorm managers, and visitors, and how that information is used across the platform.
We may collect information you provide directly, including your full name, email address, phone number, Google sign-in details, profile role, listing details, booking details, reviews, reports, uploaded images, and any messages or notes you submit through the website.
We use personal information to create and manage accounts, publish listings, process booking requests, show availability, send notifications, improve marketplace safety, respond to reports, and operate the student housing platform effectively.
When students submit booking requests and hosts publish rooms or seats, that information is stored so availability, approvals, pricing, occupancy, reviews, and booking history can be managed accurately inside the platform.
Next Knock may send platform notifications related to bookings, reviews, reports, approvals, account activity, and moderation. If email delivery is enabled on the server, email updates may also be sent to users who opt in.
Listing images, room descriptions, amenities, rules, pricing, and similar content uploaded by hosts may be shown publicly to help students evaluate accommodation options. Users should only upload content they are allowed to share.
The Android app uses Google AdMob to display advertising. Google and its advertising partners may process device identifiers, IP address, app interactions, diagnostic information, and approximate location derived from network information to deliver, measure, secure, and personalize ads where permitted. Where required, the app asks for consent and provides ad privacy choices in the profile section.
We do not sell personal information. Information may be shared inside the platform between students and hosts when necessary to support bookings, listing management, moderation, security, legal compliance, or operation of the website.
Account records, listings, bookings, reviews, moderation records, and notifications may be retained as long as reasonably necessary for platform operation, fraud prevention, dispute handling, legal compliance, and business recordkeeping.
We aim to protect information using reasonable administrative and technical measures. However, no online service can guarantee absolute security, so users should also protect their Google account access and shared device access carefully.
The website may use session data, basic technical logs, and similar tools needed for authentication, page security, performance, and general platform functionality. Your hosting environment may also create server logs for operational and security purposes.
You can choose what listing content you publish, whether to opt in to email notifications, and whether to continue using the service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by following the steps on the Next Knock account deletion page.
Next Knock is intended for students, property owners, and accommodation managers who are able to use the platform lawfully. If you believe information has been submitted inappropriately, it should be reviewed and removed where required.
This privacy policy may be updated from time to time to reflect operational, legal, or product changes. When updates are made, the effective date on this page should be revised accordingly.
